Information about automatic laser cutting of rolled materials

Laser cutting elastic materials efficiently and perfectly, achieving sealed edges and decimal precision with SEIT’s automatic laser cutting system. 

The efficiency is guaranteed by SEIT’s innovative machine Spider, the automatic laser cutting system with independent conveyors, designed to optimize cutting times and quality.

In the video on this page, you can see an automatic laser cutting system equipped with a conveyor, capable of loading gurtband in 3 rolls continuously. The system works with preset designs, simultaneously perforating on three independent conveyor belts, finally cutting the material to the desired length with sealed edges for the final finish.

The innovative machine (Spider + mini conveyor) is designed to handle cutting up to three reels at the same time, allowing decimal precision and self-sealing edges. In addition, the system is able to engrave and cut geometric shapes, customizing each piece according to the required specifications.

The main features of the Spider + mini conveyor laser cutting system include:

  • High productivity – up to three independent cutting conveyors.
  • Simple and intuitive programming, perfect for every production need.
  • Automatic material centering system, with cleaning and collection of scraps and finished products.
  • Adaptability to materials with widths up to 150 mm (three conveyor version) or 500 mm (single conveyor version)……
  • Through a chute, the products are directed to the scanning area where the 3D profiling of the piece and its recognition take place.
  • Once the piece is identified, the system automatically matches the corresponding marking file, which can vary in shape, position, and parameters, recalling it from a pre-configured database
  • The marking then takes place quickly and in a protected environment with a positioning accuracy just under a tenth of a millimeter. Higher precision is achievable upon request based on the expected scanning times and the useful recognition area

Once the product is marked, it is redirected to the main processing line where subsequent operations such as polishing, deburring, and other finishing processes occur.

The main advantages of this solution are its adaptability to existing lines through an economical retrofit that does not alter the operational flow and the ability to operate the line in both automatic and manual modes depending on the batches and sizes of the produced pieces.
