Induction brazing of reversing valves: precise and reduced times

Induction brazing of the 4-way reversing valves allows brazing of multiple points at the same time, reducing cycle times.

Induction brazing of 4-way reversing valves requires 3 brazings. The process was carried out with a Platinum MF25 induction generator using a custom made inductor handmade or 3D printed to allow the brazing of 3 connections simultaneously.

Information about induction brazing of 4-way reversing valves

The induction brazing of the 4-way valve requires brazing 3 joints for its construction.

With a SEIT induction generator it was possible to develop an inductor specifically to braze the 3 points simultaneously: this allows the process times to be optimized and significantly reduced. The joints to be brazed are made of copper and a preformed copper-phosphorus ring alloy was used as the filler alloy. A Platinum MF25 induction generator set with a 66% power/time program, for a heating duration of approximately 7 seconds. With this set-up it was possible to reduce the heating time for the 3 brazing applications by approximately 40% compared to the flame process.
